Remember
You are going out with your wife and on the way you are stopping
by a shop’s window and your wife says matter-of-factly “Oh what a nice …”
You think to yourself, “hey what a gift idea.”
But her birthday is weeks ahead and when it comes you forget.
Well, what’s the opposite of forgetting? That’s right - Writing.
Treat each gift idea as it appears the same way you handle
an appointment. Add it to your calendar , maybe to a date preceding the birthday
by a week.
MISLEAD
(The
surprise party) Everything
is set; the guests, the catering even the place and the parking
area. But
how do you deliver an unsuspecting person to a surprise party made for
him/her? Well,
don’t lie - mislead. Your
friend may suspect something seeing you busy in arranging something,
calling people, etc. So tell them you are inviting some friends for a
toast and cake to celebrate the birthday (or other event), and indeed do
so. But after this small party ends, tell your friend “let’s go to john’s
house, and maybe we’ll all go out to a movie or
something. But
this time, at John’s place there is a bigger
party...
THE
GOOD MISTAKE Standing
in the gift shop, the attendant shows you the perfect gift for your
girlfriend. You
scratch your forehead feeling non the wiser And
decide to buy it. Well…
she doesn’t like it !! End
of story? NOT BY A LONG SHOT ! Every
crisis is an opportunity
- First of all make a joke out of it, Then, go
back to the store with her and choose something else TOGETHER making it a
mutual experience. In
the end of the day the thought DOES count.
Time
is money But... It
is also a good gift. We
live a fast paced busy life and we have to in order to make a living
making our free time rare and therefore very precious, more precious than
an expensive gift. Make yourself get up and surprise your understanding
wife or “I’ll play with him on the weekend” kids, Leave this computer
especially when you are too busy and go play something silly or have a
personal chat with one of your loved ones. They know your time is valuable
and they will cherish those moments for a long time, especially the
kids. So
give them a gift -
the precious gift of time.
Repeat If
something works don’t fix it.That’s what every engineer will tell
you. When
it comes to gifts; if it worked once why not do it again? If the gift was
a special treat or a great restaurant you can enjoy it again and even make
it part of your yearly celebration. Surprise
is great but it’s not everything.
